Camp Wrap Up

Last night’s worship service was phenomenal!  Both Pocket and J.D. did an amazing job of leading our students into the Lord’s presence and engaging them on a deep level.  J.D. challenged our students to think upon how Christ was frightened at the prospect of the cross and despite that fear, still chose to sacrifice Himself for us all.  While a sober thought, it was that perspective that really lead many of our students to understand the sacrificial love of Christ on our behalf.

After evening family groups, our students gathered for ice cream and some fun outdoor games which culminated with our annual fireworks display put on by our rec team.  The students loved the fireworks and the rec team really out did themselves this year! Our student counselors have been an amazing group and perhaps one of our best to date.

Our final time of worship this morning provided the students with an opportunity to ask some hard hitting questions to J.D. about what he’s spoken on this week.  Questions ranged from the intricacies of the Trinity to whether or not Adam and Eve went to heaven.  I encourage you to engage your students when they return home to aid them in their continued focus on the Lord and how to build His kingdom.

Our final preparations this morning for departure are going well.  Students are finishing their final family groups and the rest of the team are packing and cleaning up around camp to close out another amazing year of Impact.

Chris thank you for keeping us up to date. I am so encouraged to hear the good reports. Thank you to all of you for your part in this weeks Impact. I have prayed for all of you and I know God blessed you this week too not just the children.

Just to give you a little post-camp feedback… Our 17 yo son attended church for the first time in years today. And he really enjoyed it. Praise God! We’ve had some excellent discussion over what they learned at camp and I’m thrilled at all they learned. The boys really enjoyed telling me all about their adventures and they say it was the best Impact they’ve ever attended. The thing they are most excited about is knowing their spiritual gifts. They find that knowledge comforting, encouraging and useful. As the boys’ mom, I’m really looking forward to this summer, knowing it got off to such a great start. Thank you with all my heart. I’ll be keeping you all in prayer as you analyze and organize for next year. Thank you again. Julia
